This course will present advanced rehabilitation techniques and comprehensive management strategies for patients undergoing limb lengthening and deformity correction. Topics will include the history and evolution of limb lengthening, tenets of limb lengthening with external and internal fixation, presentation of conditions treated with deformity correction and limb lengthening, muscle and soft tissue response to limb lengthening, pain and anxiety management across the life plan, surgical management techniques, hospital-based and outpatient management of the lengthening patient, physical therapy protocols, and splint management and fabrication techniques.
