Dr. Lovy is a fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgery. Prior to joining the Paley Institute in 2023, Dr. Lovy was an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he served as the Assistant Fellowship Director of the Hand Surgery Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Beth Israel.
He is skilled in the treatment of arthritic and complex traumatic disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, offering the latest arthroscopic and minimally invasive treatment options. Additionally, Dr. Lovy has a particular interest in peripheral nerve injuries including brachial plexus as well as targeted muscle reinnervation.
Dr. Lovy received his medical and master’s degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating with distinction in clinical research. He then completed Orthopaedic Surgery residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Lovy continued his training at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN specializing in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery.
Dr. Lovy enjoys publishing and lecturing on disorders of the hand and upper extremity. He has published more than 45 clinical and basic science research articles and has presented at national and international meetings. Additionally, Dr. Lovy has authored numerous textbook chapters including tendon injuries of the hand, elbow instability, brachial plexus, and repair/reconstruction of rotator cuff tears.
