Dr. Zachary McVicker is a fellowship-trained sports medicine physician specializing in minimally invasive, arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow. Dr. McVicker attended the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, graduating with a medical degree. Immediately following medical school, Dr. McVicker completed his orthopedic surgery training at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. To enhance his sports medicine knowledge and training, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the world renowned Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, where he participated in the treatment of several professional athletes.
While there, Dr. McVicker served as the assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers, LA Galaxy, LA Football Club (LAFC), Los Angeles Sparks, Anaheim Ducks, and Anaheim Angels, as well as the University of Southern California (USC) football team. Since moving to Jupiter, Florida, Dr. McVicker has served as an assistant team physician for the Miami Marlins, Jupiter Hammerheads, and team physician for Jupiter Christian High School. He has extensive training in joint preservation, including procedures such as hip arthroscopy and cartilage restoration. He has a special interest in treating injuries around the hip including femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), hip labral tears, hip dysplasia, gluteus medius and hamstring injuries. He is also proficient in the minimally invasive treatment of numerous athletic injuries including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and other knee ligament reconstructions, rotator cuff and shoulder labrum repairs, and the treatment of elbow pathology.
Dr. McVicker also has extensive training in muscle sparing anterior total hip replacements. His sports medicine experience and training allows him to offer the highest level of personalized care to his patients. Dr. McVicker prides himself on treating the entire patient to facilitate the physical and mental well-being required to return to an active lifestyle. Dr. McVicker has been serving the Jupiter community since 2020 and will continue to see patients at the Jupiter location as well as in West Palm Beach at the Paley Institute.
