Turbo
Initial Evaluation Appointment - What to Expect
Your physician has prescribed a Turbo (2-stage Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) and Supramalleolar Orthosis (SMO)). This may be used to support muscles, immobilize joints, or correct the position of your foot and ankle.
The following guidelines will help you prepare for the use of your orthosis
What to bring to your fitting appointment
Sneakers 1.5-2 sizes larger than your current shoe size will allow for enough room to accommodate the brace. Velcro or lace-up shoes are best.

What to expect at the fitting appointment:
Fitting
Since this is a custom brace, adjustments will be made to ensure the device fits and functions properly for your child. This can include trimming the footplate length to ensure the brace fits in the shoe or adding additional space or corrections to help with the proper alignment of the foot.
It is not uncommon to have several adjustments if your child is experiencing swelling or has spots healing after surgery.
More in-depth wear and care instructions will be provided at the delivery appointment.
Our in-house facility ensures personalized care, adjustments, and long-term support for the best possible patient outcomes.
